ayment%20for%20the%20loan%20Jus%20patronatus%20to%20H%C3%A5rlev%2C%20Himling%C3%B8je%2C%20T%C3%A5rnby%2C%20Enderslev%20and%20Vr%C3%A5by%20churches%20and%20the%20same%20churches%26%2339%3B%20tithes%20and%20land%20guilds%2C%20as%20well%20as%20the%20king%26%2339%3Bs%20share%20of%20tithes%20in%20Himling%C3%B8je%2C%20Vr%C3%A5by%20and%20Enderslev%20parishes%2C%20%28however%20with%20a%20small%20deduction%20to%20the%20parish%20priest%20in%20the%20latter%20case.%29%20In%20addition%20to%20being%20the%20owner%20of%20the%20land%20in%20H%C3%A5rlev%2C%20Otte%20Skeel%20now%20also%20has%20the%20church%20and%20its%20income%20in%20the%20same%20place.%20Administratively%2C%20the%20land%20continues%20to%20follow%20Tryggev%C3%A6lde%20and%20therefore%20later%20comes%20under%20the%20Bregentved%20estate%2C%20while%20H%C3%A5rlev%20Kirke%20from%20now%20on%20belongs%20to%20the%20Vall%C3%B8%20manor%20owned%20by%20Otte%20Skeel%2C%20after%201737%20transformed%20into%20Vall%C3%B8%20Stift.%201%201913%20the%20church%20passes%20into%20private%20ownership.%3C%2Fspan%3E%3C%2Fspan%3E%3C%2Fspan%3E%3C%2Fspan%3E%3C%2Fspan%3E%3C%2Fspan%3E%3C%2Fspan%3E%3Cbr%20%2F%3E%20%0A%3Cbr%20%2F%3E%20%0A

%3Cb%3EThe%20altar%20silver%3C%2Fb%3E%3Cbr%2F%3EIn%201658%2C%20a%20Swedish%20cavalry%20unit%20of%20King%20Karl%20X%20Gustav%27s%20army%20was%20in%20winter%20quarters%20in%20the%20area.%20Some%20of%20the%20soldiers%20robbed%20the%20altar%20silver.%20Something%20new%2C%20presumably%20inferior%2C%20was%20acquired.%20Which%20prompted%20a%20later%20priest%20to%20pay%20for%20a%20recast%20in%20N%C3%A6stved.%20The%20chalice%20was%20stamped%20with%20the%20city%20mark%20and%20master%20mark%20of%20Dionys%20Willadsen.%20On%20the%20foot%20is%20engraved%3A%20%22Anno%201685.%20On%20November%2010%2C%20Her%20son%20Knud%20Christens%C3%B8n%20died%20and%20Ma%E2%80%A2ren%20Ib%27s%20daughter%20surrounded%20and%20improved%20the%20church%27s%20chalice%20and%20dish%20at%20their%20own%20expense%2C%20Soli%20Deo%20Gloria%22.%20It%20is%20this%20great%20chalice%20that%20still%20exists.%20The%20disk%20is%20stamped%20with%20A.Z.%20for%20A.%20Zahlkvist%2C%20who%20died%20in%201847.%20The%20wafer%20box%20of%20Copenhagen%20proof%20silver%20from%201836%20is%20by%20a%20contemporary%20master%2C%20P.R.%20Eggersen%2C%20by%20whom%20there%20are%20works%20in%20Himling%C3%B8je%2C%20Enderslev%20and%20Vr%C3%A5by.%3Cbr%20%2F%3E%0D%0AA%20special%20treasure%20is%20a%20home%20narrative%20set%20%3D%20a%20small%20travel%20set%20with%20a%20chalice%2C%20disk%20and%20box%20in%20a%20small%20tube-like%20suitcase%2C%20which%20the%20priest%20could%20take%20with%20him%20when%20visiting%20the%20sick.%20The%20chalice%20has%202%20stamps%20that%20have%20not%20been%20identified%2C%20but%20the%20set%20is%20assumed%20to%20be%20from%20the%20time%20just%20after%20the%20Reformation%20in%201536%20and%20as%20such%20some%20of%20the%20oldest%20altar%20silver%20in%20the%20former%20Pr%C3%A6st%C3%B8%20county.%20The%20Swedes%20probably%20did%20not%20know%20of%20its%20existence%2C%20or%20the%20priest%20managed%20to%20hide%20it%20well%20since%20it%20was%20saved.
%3Cb%3EThe%20baptismal%20font%3C%2Fb%3E%3Cbr%2F%3EIn%20general%2C%20it%20was%20the%20case%20that%20the%20baptismal%20font%2C%20a%20deep%20stone%20basin%2C%20originally%20stood%20in%20the%20middle%20of%20the%20church%20as%20the%20central%20point.%20As%20the%20congregation%20grew%20and%20the%20floor%20space%20needed%20to%20be%20used%2C%20the%20font%20was%20moved%20down%20to%20the%20west%20end%20by%20the%20door.%20After%20the%20Reformation%2C%20the%20churches%20were%20provided%20with%20pulpits%2C%20which%20meant%20that%20the%20congregation%20sat%20facing%20east%20with%20their%20backs%20to%20the%20baptismal%20font.%20The%20baptismal%20font%20was%20then%20moved%20to%20the%20front.%20In%20H%C3%A5rlev%2C%20in%201686-87%2C%20the%20font%20was%20moved%20from%20its%20place%20by%20the%20tower%20to%20%22the%20former%20place%20of%20the%20confessional%20in%20the%20choir%22.%20Around%20the%20same%20time%2C%20people%20had%20generally%20gone%20from%20immersing%20the%20baptismal%20child%20to%20pouring%20water%20over%20it%2C%20which%20led%20to%20the%20introduction%20of%20the%20easier-to-handle%20flat%20baptismal%20dishes%2C%20placed%20on%20top%20of%20the%20stone%20basin.%20It%20is%20not%20known%20whether%20H%C3%A5rlev%20has%20had%20such%20a%20dish.%20It%20is%20also%20not%20known%20whether%20the%20basin%20has%20suffered%20any%20damage.%20But%20at%20one%20point%20or%20another%20-%20in%201877%20it%20is%20written%20%22in%20recent%20times%22%20-%20the%20basin%20was%20discarded%20and%20a%20cement%20%22dish%20holder%22%20with%20a%20pewter%20dish%20was%20purchased.%201%201958%20there%20is%20a%20baptismal%20font%20from%20approx.%201250-1300%20at%20an%20antique%20dealer%20in%20K%C3%B8ge.%20It%20is%20made%20of%20Gotland%20limestone%20and%20in%20very%20poor%20condition%2C%20but%20is%20being%20restored%20and%20installed%20in%20the%20slightly%20older%20church.%20The%20tin%20dish%20is%20too%20small%2C%20but%20can%20be%20increased%20with%20a%20loose%20edge%20piece.%20The%20cement%20font%20was%20moved%20to%20the%20sacristy%2C%20and%20in%201964%20to%20the%20porch.%201%201996%20an%20old%20Catholic%20custom%20is%20revived%2C%20as%20the%20congregation%20is%20encouraged%20to%20light%20a%20candle%20at%20the%20All%20Saints%27%20Day%20service%20on%20Sunday%202%20November.%20For%20this%20use%2C%20the%20cement%20font%20in%20the%20porch%20is%20brought%20in%20and%20placed%20temporarily%20to%20the%20right%20of%20the%20choir%20and%20thereby%20in%20a%20fourth%20location%20in%20the%20church.
